Modeling real-world problems always faces incomplete and indeterminate information. Fuzzy set theory and its development into intuitionistic fuzzy sets, by simultaneously defining degrees of membership, non-membership, and hesitancy, have provided suitable tools for representing this uncertainty. However, ranking trapezoidal intuitionistic fuzzy numbers and their applications, due to their inherent complexity, remains a challenge. This study, by strengthening the theoretical foundations of a parametric ranking method, focuses on developing the Simultaneous Evaluation of Criteria and Alternatives method in a trapezoidal intuitionistic fuzzy environment. The key innovation is replacing standard deviation with Shannon entropy for calculating criterion weights, which better covers the inherent uncertainty of the data. The performance of the proposed method has been examined through a practical example and comparison with existing methods. The results show that the developed method not only has the capability to manage indeterminate data but also, by integrating the ranking of intuitionistic fuzzy numbers and calculating dynamic weights, makes decision-making in complex environments more transparent and reliable. This research is a step towards intelligent decision-making systems that simultaneously ensure flexibility and algorithmic fairness.
